Will I meet my dog walker before their first walk?Absolutely, I will arrange a free meet and greet with you, so you and your dog will get to know me. It is also extremely helpful to know as much information as possible about your dog before walking him/her so I can establish whether or not we will be a good fit. Meet & greets will consist of: A little information pack to fill in about your dog A short walk A chance for you to ask me any questions you might have This shouldn't take any longer than 60 mins

How do you introduce new dogs?New dogs are introduced slowly and with great care to ensure that they get along with the rest of the group. At the initial meet and greet, we assess the dogs behaviour and make it clear to the owner that all dogs must be well-socialised, well-mannered and calm around other dogs. I always walk the dogs solo first in order to get to know the dogs individually, before I feel comfortable enough to include them in a group walk setting. On each dogs first group walk, they will be kept on lead and not forced to interact with the other dogs. Once I can see that they do not have any concerning behaviour issues, they are allowed off lead to make new friends and have a run around with the other dogs!

What if my dog doesn't get along with other dogs?If group walks are not suitable for your dog, I offer solo walks for more anxious/ nervous dogs. This is subject to availability, please send me an enquiry and I'll be happy to see if I can help out.
-
How many dogs do you walk at a time? Here at Ellie's Pooch Pals we are insured to walk up to 6 dogs. However all group walks will have a maximum limit of 4 dogs per group walk, unless stated otherwise. I always ensure that I have full control of every single dog in a group. I aim to keep your dogs as happy and safe as possible whilst having lots of fun!
-
Will my dog be off-leash?I will only walk your dog off lead with your given permission, this will be discussed and recorded during your initial meet and greet visit. Each dog will be assessed in order to gauge how good your dogs recall and attention skills are. If your dog does have bad recall I can use a longline if necessary, this ensures your dog can have a good run around and tire themselves out.

What will happen during bad weather conditions?I always aim to walk your dog whatever the weather. However, should there be any adverse weather conditions (too hot/cold/windy/snowy/wet) then I will either change the walk to a pop in visit, or I will cut the walk short to ensure everyone's safety. During hot weather I may need to change the time of your walk to early mornings/ late evenings so your dog doesn't overheat, or we can also provide a pop in service instead. I will always communicate this with you before hand.
